Myndoor - an amazing startup which aims at monitoring, predicting and preventing stress and psychological distress by using Natural Language Processing methods - will come in presence at Polimi Leonardo to talk about their experience and approach in the business and data science field.
The event will be structured in two parts, starting from the story of the startup and the business model, to then focus on the more technical side related to how to build a ML model to analyze the stress levels and do sentiment analysis through guided notebooks and the support of the team.

The combination of local information, data visualization and data science give life to a very powerful tool: geoanalytics. Proprietary and public data mixed by skilled data scientists can allow energy companies to know better and better how to move around the territory.
In this scenario, E.ON Energia – one of the main player on the energy market – has started developing various software improving certain business processes: the analysis of fraudulent behavior, the search for the best place to open a front office, the analysis of the behavior of our customers in a specific area, etc. The figure of the data scientists, as well as that of the business analysts, are fundamental for approaching this type of projects.
During the event the Customer Analytics team will share their experience in this field and will tell how these approach can bring value to energy companies bringing two use cases where it will be possible to understand which kind of technical/business challenges Data Scientists faces of in day-by-day.

Join us on a deep dive on reinforcement learning where we will discuss both the technical and the philosophical aspects of this technique.

Do you want to apply what you are learning about Machine Learning? Keep reading to understand the challenge competition that we propose!
Kaggle Challenge of April-May 2021 is a competition dedicated to students from Politecnico di Milano who want to test their skills in data science and machine learning.
The competition is open to teams of 1 to 3 students, who will have to find an efficient solution to find a product in different images, in a Kaggle competition supported by Shopee. Submission to the challenge can be uploaded until 10th of May, after which the leaderboard will be finalised with the private scores of each team.
Two different images of similar wares may represent the same product or two completely different products; the goal of retailers is to identify similar products offered by competitors, and offer them at a better price, task that can be achieved through a combination of deep learning and traditional machine learning.
Students have to register individually on the PMDS website, and they will receive an email with further instructions (telegram group + spreadsheet). The application to the competition ends the 23rd of April. Students will have the opportunity to form teams with the other participants, or ask PMDS for help in finding a team (write to us if you want more info!).
The challenge is managed on Kaggle, but we will keep a separate leaderboard with the teams signed up for the challenge; indeed we are not organizing the actual competition ourselves, we are just giving to students of PoliMi an opportunity to form teams and compete with each other.

We are proud to announce that we are organizing a new project activity in collaboration with AEA, the Polimi Automation and Robotics Association!
We would like to create a team which will become familiar with the tools and resources of Duckietown, a foundation with the objective of spreading knowledge about robotics and machine learning!
The final objective of the team is to take part in the AI Driving Olympics, where you will have to teach a mini car to drive itself inside a circuit.
